| Maejo University began
to offer and teach graduate programs in 1985 in two master degree programs
in agricultural extension and cooperative economics. Prior to this, the
Graduate School was administered by an executive committee chaired by the
University President since it was affiliated as a section under the Office
of the President. However, in 1998, the Graduate School was officially approved
by the University Senate Council and its organizational structure is presided
by the School Dean.
Advanced studies of at least one
but generally two years, combined with a thesis or a special problem,
lead to the award of a master's degree. A doctorate requires an additional
three years of study following a master's degree.
