Dear Reader,
The Kingdom of Thailand
is a country that everyone has always wanted to see mainly because
of its rich and unique culture besides being increasingly accessible
from any part of the world. In the world of learning, the country
strives to offer high quality education that meets international
standards. Thailand’s modern educational system is fully supported
by excellent facilities and institutions that cater to very competitive
future technologies through a proliferation of student/staff exchange
programs, scholarships and study tours offered by different local
educational institutions.
Maejo University
is a state university that is located in Chiang Mai, the most prominent
province in the upper northern region of the country. Only a few
places in the world have more to offer the visitor than Northern
Thailand. Here, the scenery is spectacular, the climate perfect
for much of the year, the people charming, the food delectable and
the culture fascinating – small wonder that more than 4 million
people a year visit the north.
Maejo
University (MJU) is the oldest agricultural institution in Thailand
with a very rich historical background. In fact, MJU will celebrate
its 70th year as a degree-granting institution in 2004. For many
decades, MJU has produced thousands of alumni occupying high level
positions in different public and private agricultural agencies
thereby attesting to the kind of education MJU has been providing
its students.
Although at MJU, almost all courses in the bachelor, masters and
doctorate levels, are conducted in Thai as in compliance with the
policy of the educational commission of the country, many specific
programs are now handled in English to accommodate non-Thai speakers.
Through
its various academic linkages and networking with foreign institutions,
MJU is slowly but surely transforming itself as an international
university. We are prepared to fulfill our vision of focusing its
development towards becoming a foremost international institution
of academic excellence in the region besides serving as a learning
center for all people from the Thai society.
