| BACKGROUND AND LOCATION | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Maejo University at Phrae Campus was established in 1996 as an educational expansion to Phrae and nearby provinces by Maejo University. The campus is situated in 17 Moo 3, Mae Sai , Rong Kwang district, Phrae province. It is about 50 km from Maejo University in Chiangmai and around 550 km from Bangkok. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| CAMPUS
STAFF As of 2003, there are 60 staff members and 9 scholars and they are divided as: a) 47 Staff members working full-time in Phrae Campus: 28 lecturers, 9 supporting academic officers, 1 general administrative officer and 9 temporary employees. b) 9 Staff members working full-time in MJU main campus: 5 lecturers, 1 supporting academic officer, 2 general administrative officers, and 1 temporary employee. c) 4 Staff members working both in MJU and Phrae campuses: 3 lecturers, and 1 supporting academic employee. As of 2003, MJU-Phrae Campus has 9 scholars who are pursuing graduate studies under the University Development Project., in various reputable universities in Thailand. After the completion of their studies, they are expected to return to the campus and participate in the campus' teaching and learning activities. |

| ACADEMIC
SUPPORT UNITS LIBRARY Found on the second floor of the main academic building, the campus library contains books that were either purchased by MJU using an annual budget and also through donations from other public organizations or individuals. Besides, the library has also solicited book donations from other universities and private agencies. At present, the campus holds textbooks, magazines, scientific journals , and other printed materials both in Thai and English. Its current inventory includes 3,480 Thai textbooks, 316 foreign textbooks, 50 Japanese textbooks, 42 journals, 1 Thai newspaper, and 500 Maejo University students theses. |

| COMPUTER
LABORATORY AND INFORMATION SERVICE The campus has been provided numerous PCs for teaching and learning activities and information services since 2000. At present, 90 PCs are used solely by students. In the second semester of academic year 1992, video conferencing system was utilized in teaching some courses in Tourism Development Program. The campus includes in its planning the use of this system for teaching and learning in the coming academic years. |

| LANGUAGE
LABORATORY In the campus, there are 2 language laboratories which are used for English language teaching and practicing. One of them is for the general level and the another is for the advanced level. The latter is linked through an internal networking and internet system in order to supplement students with worldwide knowledge and ability. |

| TYPING
ROOM This room is located on the third floor of the main academic building. It contains 20 Thai and 20 English typewriters and are provided for students who want to practice their typing ability. Moreover, an addition of 10 PCs, which were donated by the main campus, are also made available for students who want to practice using different softwares. |
