Academics
The Faculty of Agricultural Business is one of the
two original faculties at Maejo Institute of Agricultural Technology.
In addition to the 11 bachelor degrees for both two - year programs
and four - year programs, the faculty also awards master and doctorate
degrees. Some degrees are offered for full time and part time students.
Facilities
The faculty's main complex consists of two buildings
that house a central secretarial and administrative offices, and
classrooms. They also contain a 300-seat auditorium, a well-equipped
audio-visual center and facilities for long-distance learning besides
a library, a self-access room, language laboratories for teaching
and learning activities, and a computer laboratory. There are also
personal study rooms for its graduate students.
Researches
The faculty aims to direct its research activities
toward areas most relevant to the problems of developing a standard
of living for the northern people in social-economic aspect. The
researches are conducted basically to strengthen the academic excellence
of the staff members, too.
International
Linkages
The faculty has an academic linkage with several
leading universities and institutes such as Washington State University
(USA), University of Alberta (Canada), Henan Agricultural University
(PROC), Shanghai Agricultural College (PROC), Central Luzon State
University (Philippines), etc. The cooperation aims at the academic
exchange programs among the staff members and students as well.
Community
Outreaches
The faculty has been involved in several community-based
development programs through set up of training courses and seminars
on business and economic areas. Special agricultural extension programs
for the communities and ecotourism management and operations are
also included.
Future
Plans
The faculty plans to expand in all areas concerned
to fulfill its goal of providing academic excellence. Plans are
set up to internationalize the faculty by collaborating and strengthening
cooperation through academic exchange programs and research activities
with organizations in both government and private sectors in neighboring
countries and other countries abroad.
