Maejo University has its own Act providing power to the University Council to function as its governing body. Under this Council is the University President who is responsible for institutional administration. Beneath the President are the various, faculties, centers, institutes and interdisciplinary units. The University President, as the chief administrator, operates the university according to the policies laid down by the University Council which is comprised of the Council Chairman, President, Vice-Presidents, Deans, Directors of Offices of the university and other senior citizens with no daily involvement with the university.
