Maejo University strives to grant high-quality education in practical agriculture hence, its wide scope of study programs that enables its students to master the theories as well as their practical application. MJU considers the development of its human resources as one of its main priority while its various educational services and opportunities give its students the flexibility to meet the ever-changing needs of the society. The diverse academic training the student receives during his MJU years provides him strong foundation for future advancement and a strong desire to serve and to contribute to the progress of his own society during his professional years. Admission to Higher Education
Having obtained the secondary school or grade 12 certificate, admission to Maejo University is dependent on a candidate successfully passing the national university entrance examination which is organized by a committee consisting of representatives from public universities and the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of University Affairs. In addition, Maejo University conducts its own entrance examination due to a quota system for some special programs.
 

Admission Requirements and Procedures :
Admission is contingent upon the student :

  • Having completed 12 years of education at primary and secondary schools and having obtained a grade 12 certificate or equivalent by the Ministry of Education.
  • Being physically and mentally sound.
  • Not having been expelled from any other institution or learning on grounds of misconduct.
  • Not having enrolled in more than one institution of higher education (except open universities) concurrently.
 
Procedures of the Entrance Examination
This examination is intended to select the most suitable student candidates for admission to a state university (i.e. Maejo University) due to the limited number of seats available in each institution.

Qualified students, seeking admission to public universities, must apply in person for the national entrance examination which is usually held in April. Results are given at the end of May. Applicants are entitled to apply to 4 different faculties at one or more universities of their choice. Those who pass the examination have to undergo an interview, physical examination and aptitude test as required by some faculties.
